Ecological Assessment Reports

Phase 1 habitat plan for large siteOatlands Ecology can carry out the appropriate Ecological Assessments for a wide range of projects from “Simple Assessments” that end at the Phase 1 stage to “Detailed Assessments “ that require detailed field surveys and form part of an Ecological Impact Assessment process.

A Phase 1 Habitat Survey and Desk Study is the basic starting point for determining the ecological implications of a proposed development. The scope of the Ecological Assessment will also vary with each project and, depending on the scheme, may become more detailed as the scheme develops.

Depending on the findings of the Phase 1 Habitat Survey further ecologically targeted surveys such as Botanical Surveys and Protected Species Surveys may be undertaken. The Ecological Assessment, will identify:
• The ecological value of a site and its features
• The magnitude and significance of any impacts
• Mitigation measures
• Residual impacts
